The performance my own private* by Petja Golec Horvat and Bor Prokofjev’s solo Equilibrium are presented as a double-bill. This pairing is deliberate, acknowledging that both artists are at the nascent stages of their journeys, yet their choreographic approaches and effects are remarkably diverse. Both works showcase remarkably intricate choreographic languages.

Predstava moj privatni lastni* (2025) Petje Golec Horvat in solo Equilibrium (2024) Bora Prokofjeva sta umetniški deli, ki smo se ju zaradi dejstva, da sta njuna avtorja na začetku svojih umetniških poti in da so njuna koreografska sredstva in učinki zelo raznoliki, odločili predstaviti v enem večeru. Obe deli sta primerka dveh osupljivo kompleksnih koreografskih govoric.

About project:

my own private* operates through atmospheres and a melancholic rhythm of existential expanses, unfolding as a distinctly cinematic intertwining of intimate and layered landscape scenes. Narrative indices are embedded within these images through their material textures, meeting the somatic qualities of movements and bodies at a profound level. Petja Golec Horvat’s performance my own private*, delivers a mature and complex choreographic language, where cinematic, photographic, architectural and bodily media interweave seamlessly to create a vast, expansive time: a choreographic landscape that is expansive enough to inhabit it with her sensorial, personal reflections. Her choreographic landscape maintains the material properties of the body and visual images yet seamlessly transitions into cinematic montage. In this realm, bodily and spatial concretions are endowed with temporal properties that extend beyond their material present. In this way, her melancholic Weltschmerz is suddenly accessible to us, because it transcends to the level of concept and surpasses private matters. We are confronted by a work that is open to our gaze, and we can inhabit it. The diversification of the choreographic field through varied and artistically suggestive dance writing has consistently been a programmatic aim of CoFestival, with the aim of expanding the spectrum of choreological approaches in the local space. When a work like Petja Golec Horvat’s my own private* appears, we understand it as a celebration of the local contemporary dance scene.

O projektu:


Moj privatni lastni* učinkuje z vzdušji in z melanholičnim ritmom bivanjskih prostranosti. Je izrazito kinematičen preplet bližnjih in krajinskih večslojnih podob, v katere se pripovedni indici umeščajo s svojimi materialnimi teksturami in se prav na tej ravni srečajo s somatskimi lastnostmi gibanj in teles. Petja Golec Horvat v predstavi moj privatni lastni* ustvari zrelo in kompleksno koreografsko pisavo, v kateri se filmski, fotografski, arhitekturni in telesni mediji prepletejo v razprostrti čas, koreografsko krajino, ki je dovolj razsežna, da lahko vanjo naseli svoja senzorična, osebna razmišljanja. Njena krajinska koreografija ohranja materialne lastnosti telesa in vizualnih podob, hkrati pa prehaja v polje kinematične montaže, s čimer telesne in prostorske konkretnosti pridobijo časovne lastnosti onstran svojih materialnih sedanjosti. Tako nam je njen melanholični Weltschmerz nenadoma dostopen, saj preide na raven pojma in preseže privatnosti. Pred nami se pojavi delo, v katero se lahko s svojim pogledom napotimo in ga tudi sami naselimo. Diverzifikacija koreografskega polja z raznolikimi in avtorsko sugestivnimi plesnimi pisavami je bila vselej težnja CoFestivalovih programskih edicij, ki so nastajale z nalogo, da bi se v domačem prostoru razširil spekter koreoloških pristopov. Ko se pojavi delo, kakršno je moj privatni lastni* Petje Golec Horvat, to razumemo kot praznik domačega sodobnoplesnega prostora.
