About performance:
The performance examines the gaze and self-awareness—or, alternatively, self-forgetting—in the digital age, in which public space is increasingly permeating the private sphere and our bodies are constantly exposed to a hegemonic social gaze that dictates what is desirable and who is allowed to be seen. An ongoing tension thus exists within the individual between the desire to fulfill expectations and the impulse to resist the projections of those around us.
The performance explores how this gaze affects our bodies and the ways in which we reflect the traces of social projections through movement and posture. A gaze that is elusive and difficult to define suddenly manifests itself in a distinctly physical way: in our posture, muscle tone, and the position we assume in space. Do we accept the gaze, expose ourselves to it, or try to escape it? How does the gaze confine us, and what spaces open up when the external gaze is absent? Are self-forgetting and a state of trance still possible?
O projektu:
Predstava pod drobnogled vzame pogled in samozavedanje oz. samopozabo v digitalni dobi, kjer javni prostor vse bolj mezi tudi v zasebno sfero in naše telo ves čas izpostavlja. Hegemonemu družbenemu pogledu, ki narekuje, kaj je zaželeno in kdo je sploh lahko viden.V posamezniku je tako neprestano prisotno trenje med željo po izpolnitvi pričakovanj ter uporom proti projekcijam okolice.
Predstava raziskuje, kako ta pogled vpliva na naše telo in na kakšen način z gibanjem in držo odražamo sledi družbenih projekcij. Pogled, ki je izmuzljiv in ki se ga težko definira, se naenkrat manifestira na izrazito fizičen način: v drži, mišičnem tonusu ter položaju, ki ga zavzamemo v prostoru. Ali pogled sprejmemo, se mu izpostavimo ali mu poskušamo ubežati? Kako nas pogled zameji in kateri prostori se odprejo, ko je zunanji pogled odsoten? Ali sta samopozaba in stanje zanosa še mogoča?
