LET'S BEGIN! – Ustvarjanje plesa za mlado publiko
Plesni Teater Ljubljana, 10.–15. marec 2019
Skupina bo v ustvarjalnem in navdihujočem vzdušju povabljena k individualnim umetniškim procesom koreografije, pri čemer bo soočena z različnimi vprašanji oz. predlogi:
Kje začnemo v našem kreativnem procesu? S temo?
Kaj pomeni to o inovaciji, interakciji, vključenosti?
Kako ustvarjamo »material«?
In končno: kako nadaljevati?
Prav vsakega povabljenega umetnika in umetnico spodbujamo k temu, da raziskuje vsebino, izvedbo in odzive. Vsi bodo ustvarjali v okviru svojih lastnih kreativnih procesov, pri čemer bo v nadaljnjih korakih njihove prakse glavna tema pogovora in razmisleka soočenje metod, sloga in namena.
Plesni Teater Ljubljana bo vsak dan v tesnem stiku z rezidenčnimi umetniki in umetnicami:
izmenjava povratnih informacij ter nadzor sestankov tako o umetniških kot o organizacijskih vprašanjih;
zagotavljanje prostora za umetnike in umetnice ter skrb za logistične potrebe;
mreženje in druženje na vsakodnevnem skupnem kosilu.
Poleg tega bo Plesni Teater Ljubljana za umetnike in umetnice organiziral oglede lokalnih dogodkov in prireditev, povezanih s tematiko in vrsto umetnosti, v okviru katere delujejo.
LET’S BEGIN! – Making dances for young audience
Dance Theatre Ljubljana, March 10–15, 2019
The first Artistic Lab/Moving Lab, part of a long-term research program line of the GENERATOR platform, will be dealing with the topic of “beginnings”, on both philosophical and practical level. Led by Sanja Tropp Frühwald, an artist with a long-term involvement in contemporary dance art for and with young audiences, this Lab will invite a group of 10 selected GENERATOR artists to investigate how and why to make a dance performance for and/or with young audience.
In a creative and inspiring atmosphere, the group will be invited to start individual artistic processes of choreographing, negotiating with several questions/proposals:
Where do we start in our creative processes? A topic? An age group we want to open a dialogue with? A story we want to tell, an inspirational abstract idea we want to propose, a paradox we want to reveal? Negotiating with the patterns in which our bodies are thinking? A message we want to share?
How do we want to communicate? What are the methods we could use in our process? Is there a map? What is “allowed” to be presented on stage for young audience? Is there a set of rules to follow or to break? What is that thing about Innovation, Interaction, and Inclusivity?
How do we create “material”? What could be the dramaturgical input through films, books, games, etc.?
What kind of dances are being presented on our stages for young audience and what are we missing?
What else is going on besides performances? How do we look at our process? What about other people’s processes?
How do we perceive time in our process? What is our daily practice? Within a production structure, are we thinking about endings before we even begin? And what about freedom? And finally: How to keep on going?
Each and every invited artist is encouraged to explore content, implementation, and follow-up. They will each work within their respective creative process, the juxtapositions of the method, style and intention will become the fodder for conversation and reference as they take the next steps in their own practice.
We will be involved in investigating innovative ways of sharing the creative process from the very beginning. Collaborations will be encouraged, but not obligatory.
In addition to sharing and working with each other, we would like to introduce the participating artists' proposals and concepts directly to children and youth attending the partnering schools and kindergartens of Dance Theatre Ljubljana, as well as to the local community: artists, children and adults who could benefit from taking part in our process.
Dance Theatre Ljubljana will be in close contact with the residency artists on a daily basis:
conducting feedback and supervising sessions on both artistic and organizational issues;
ensuring the venue for the artists and that logistical needs are met;
networking and socializing via a daily communal meal.
Furthermore, Dance Theatre Ljubljana will bring the Lab artists to local events and happenings that are relevant to the topic and the art form that they are working within.
Generator platform will make sure that selected and invited artists have the opportunity to continue the research during the next part of the Artistic Lab/Moving Lab Generator program line in August 2019, hosted by DSCHUNGEL WIEN Theatre at the MQ (Vienna), and have a chance to present their concepts during a Generator Pitching Hub event that will take place as part of the KLIKER Festival Zagreb in October 2019.
*Participation in the Artistic Lab/Moving Lab is free of charge for all selected artists. Additional costs – which include (and are limited to) travel costs, accommodation and daily meals – are covered by the organizers.
“Dailiness allows for the endless finding of a reason, for curiosity, ongoingness, tedium, for humor, perspective, for working with the unclassifiable, for the work of work, for embracing the excitement of being led by that stranger, the unmade dance.” Susan Rethorst / Choreographic Mind
