4UKREP 2025

od 3. do 7. septembra

V M E S N O S T

Festival 4UKREP 2025 ponovno odpira prostore, ideje in srečanja. Združuje jih in jih začasno zadržuje v tematskem konceptu festivala - vmes.

V petih dneh bo festival gostitelj plesnim, glasbenim in gledališkim umetnikom iz Slovenije, Poljske, Grčije, Italije, Latvije, Švedske, Nemčije in Južne Koreje.

Tretji del trilogije Barbare Kanc v produkciji PTL-ja, predstava Vmes povabi najmlajšo publiko na igrivo popotovanje skozi gib in domišljijo, v razkrivanje možnosti in impulze prostora vmes.

POSLUŠAM UKREP UŽIVO

Glasba je zgovoren sogovornik plesu. Glasba bo vsak gib spremenila v ples, ples bo vsako tišino spremenil v ritem.

Švedsko-litvanski dvojec, Erik Eriksson in Krišjānis Sants, s predstavo Vērpete povzdigujeta dialog plesnega dueta v dialog plesa z glasbo in dialog predstave z občinstvom.

Ples postane umetnost, ko umetniki odprejo okna intime. Še en solo avtorice Petre Peček je surov in humoren premierni solo performans, ki briše mejo med osebno resnico in fikcijo.

Slovenska umetnica Alja Lacković bo skozi dialog s svetlobno instalacijo poljske umetnice Laure Adel predstavila Združitev.

Zato smo v spremljevalni program UKREP-a uvrstili tudi plesne filme Nine Zaletelj Iličič, Tomaža Tomažina in Jelene Radoičić, nastale v okviru programa PTL-ja, Ples(ni) film.

Poleg programa predstav, bodo v tednu festivala organizirane plesne delavnice za plesalce in neformalna druženja za vse obiskovalce.

4UKREP 2025 stopi čez prag, išče meje prostorov in meje udobja, popelje publiko na potovanje skozi tenzije odnosov in intimne krize, odgovore išče v konfrontacijah in kolaboracijah, v dialogu.

4UKREP 2025

3 - 7 September

I N - B E T W E E N N E S S

In the split between the closing of summer and the opening of a new season, dance alone has the power to invite connection between the two. In the in-between—between sunny days and switching off the air conditioning, between a rested body and sensing the pulse of rhythm, between productive solitude and inspiring togetherness, between thought and movement—there is dance.

The 4UKREP Festival 2025 once again opens spaces, ideas, and encounters. It brings them together and temporarily holds them in the thematic framework of the festival: the “in-between.” As the central theme, this "in-betweenness" unfolds in the spaces between moments, bodies, thoughts, and emotions. Exploring this metaphorical in-between invites young artists to seek transitions and boundaries, to identify spaces both inside and outside themselves, to expose contrasts and extremes, and to reveal hidden or undefined experiences—all in the name of redefining the space for performative dialogue.

This year’s UKREP program is a series of such dialogues. They are opened through dance duets, dynamic intermedia encounters with film, music, and light, and performative dialogue between dance and its audience. Over five days, the festival will host dance, music, and theatre artists from Slovenia, Poland, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, and South Korea.

IN-HOUSE UKREP

The 4UKREP Festival will be a platform for the premiere of three in-house productions created during 2025.

The Slovenian-Greek duet Shifts marks the debut of Brina Dokl and Roula Samiotaki. The two artists and dancers explore existence defined through co-existence, contemplating ways of reshaping social perception. Their movement dialogue is rooted in relationality, where motion is never taken for granted—it is response, listening, commitment—always in-between, always among two.

Another festival production, the premiere of Slovenian authors Anamaria Bagarić and Tajda Podobnik, is titled tissue:human. The duet addresses the human experience as an organism. The performance builds upon a vivisection of dance as an act and as an event.

As the audience is an indispensable dialogue partner in dance, we will also invite them into the performance—especially the audience that easily and joyfully crosses the boundary of performance and throws open their imaginative windows: children. The third part of Barbara Kanc’s trilogy, produced by PTL, In Between invites the youngest audience on a playful journey through movement and imagination, exploring the impulses and possibilities of the in-between space.

UKREP LIVE

Music is a vocal partner in dialogue with dance. Music turns every movement into dance, and dance transforms every silence into rhythm. This year, UKREP explores the in-between through the fusion of dance and music, through connections between musicians and dancers, between bodies and instruments, and will feature several events that center on this close relationship.

The Swedish-Latvian duo Erik Eriksson and Krišjānis Sants, with their performance Vērpete, elevate the dialogue of a dance duet into a dialogue between dance and music, and between performance and audience.

On the boundary between music and dance—where sound takes shape and movement echoes—synesthesia between dancer Jerca Rožnik Novak's and percussionist Sofia Garzotto emerges. The performance Bewegte Töne seeks not confrontation, but fusion of performative expression from the space between dancer and music.

South Korean guest Jin Lee found inspiration in jazz improvisation for her performance Muje, where meaning and character arise from fleeting moments of harmony. Together with a musician, the dance collective Zinada will also invite the audience to an open dance jam session—JAMMM—in the in-between space connecting PTL and the nearby Prulček bar.

UKREP AS A WINDOW TO THE WORLD

Dance itself is in-between. The dancer’s intimate space, traveling through moments when it becomes accessible to the outside world. Dance becomes art when artists open the windows of intimacy.

Petra Peček’s solo performance Just Amother Solo is a raw and humorous premiere that blurs the line between personal truth and fiction.

Slovenian artist Alja Lacković will present Coalesce in dialogue with a light installation by Polish artist Laura Adel. This interactive projection in a gallery window mimics a classical portal, its central part transforming into a projection screen displaying fleeting moments of dance.

Slovenian artist Anamaria Klajnšček, in collaboration with Kristýna Peldová, presents a work-in-progress titled VULNERI, which explores the porous boundaries between the individual and society, between inner and outer worlds, between survival mechanisms and the need for connection.

When movement is framed and rhythm is shaped by both body and film editing, an autonomous expression emerges in-between dance and film—neither dance nor film, but both at once. That’s why the UKREP side program also includes dance films by Nina Zaletelj Iličič, Tomaž Tomažin, and Jelena Radoičić, produced within PTL's Ples(ni) film program.

In addition to performances, the festival week will offer dance workshops for dancers and informal gatherings for all visitors.

4UKREP 2025 crosses thresholds, seeks the edges of space and comfort, and takes the audience on a journey through tensions in relationships and intimate crises. It searches for answers in confrontation and collaboration—in dialogue. It grounds the Slovenian dance scene in reality: dance is the art of the in-between—between the dancer’s interior and the echo it reaches in society. UKREP, the act that will preserve dance as an art form, is the opening of windows and doors, a breath that leads to inspiration. We warmly invite you to join us!
