Ahead of us is a brand new festival of dance, children, youth and theatre at the Dance Theatre Ljubljana– demi UKREP.
Demi in dance jargon means half, so we playfully appeal to those who are still growing, still developing, still flourishing. In four episodes, the rejuvenated festival of dance perspectives, UKREP, brings dance performances, games and workshops for the youngest, a creative platform for young artists and a few more exciting surprises to the stage of the Ljubljana Dance Theatre.

3rd episode: demi-UKREP: DANCE POP-UP

From June 19 to 21, 2026, the third edition of the festival will bring the school year to a dynamic close with interactive events that combine dance with light installations, public spaces, contemporary circus arts, and music.
We invite children to dance performances, bring dance into dialogue with the circus, create more space for playful dance workshops, and prepare the streets of Ljubljana for the expectation of the unexpected through a dance POP-UP programme.

Demi v plesnem žargonu pomeni polovičen, zatorej igrivo apeliramo na še rastoče, še razvijajoče, še zelene. V štirih epizodah pomlajeni festival plesnih perspektiv UKREP tokrat prinaša plesne predstave, igre in delavnice za najmlajše, kreativno platformo za mlade ustvarjalce ter še nekaj razgibanih presenečenj na oder Plesnega Teatra Ljubljana.

Med 19. in 21. junijem 2026 bo 3. epizoda festivala razgibano zaključila konec šolskega leta z interaktivnimi dogodki, ki ples združujejo s svetlobnimi inštalacijami, javnimi prostori, sodobnim cirkusom in glasbo.
Otroke povabimo na plesne predstave, ples popeljemo na obisk k sodobnemu cirkusu ter naredimo več prostora za igrive plesne delavnice, ulice Ljubljane pa pripravimo na pričakovanje nepričakovanega plesnega POP-UP programa.

The performance Inside:Tree explores the relationship between humans and nature through body, movement, natural elements, space, traces and stories. It is intended for children and their adult companions. It is a multi-layered performance that, through sensory experience, movement and narrative, builds an intimate and poetic space of encounter with the tree as a living being, interlocutor, bearer of memory and mystery.

Predstava Znotraj: Drevo raziskuje odnos med človekom in naravo skozi telo, gib, naravne elemente, prostor, sledi in zgodbe. Namenjena je otrokom ter njihovim odraslim spremljevalcem. Gre za večplastno uprizoritev, ki skozi senzorično izkušnjo, gib in pripoved gradi intimen in poetičen prostor srečanja z drevesom kot živim bitjem, sogovornikom, nosilcem spomina in skrivnosti.

When we play, anything is possible: the floor is made of lava, objects fly through the air and everyday items take on a whole new meaning.
Three dancers get involved in the game, into game to explore different rules, spaces, choices of each other’s world of games. They tear down one in order to build and explore another one. Game into Game is a virtuous, playful, humorous and touching dance piece for not only children but also their families at the same time.

After the performance about the game, the game itself continues. Dancers from the performance Game into Game will, together with our colleagues, invite children to join them in the experience of creating dance and music on the stage.

demi-UKREP: KICK OFF– Platform for Young Choreographers
For the past two decades, Dance Theatre Ljubljana has been providing dancers of the younger generation with the opportunity to realize their first professional project. It is important to mention that many Slovenian dancers received their first project precisely at PTL, which opened pathways for their development and recognition within the Slovenian cultural space.
Within the PTL program, a young author is offered production support, ensuring visibility and integration into the Slovenian dance scene.
In 2026, the Young Author project was offered to four dancers who recently completed their academic education: Zarja Ferlinc, Daša Resnik, Beti Polanec, and Alja Turk Hvala. At the same time, in 2026, we continue to build a platform for young creators within the demi-UKREP festival through projects by emerging authors from previous seasons, under the subtitle *KICK OFF*.
Between the 14th and 17th May, audiences will be able to see the premiere works *Fugitive Particles* – Ferlinc, Resnik (30’) and *Transformations 0.1* – Polanec, Turk Hvala (30’), as well as reprises of earlier debut works *Shifts* – Dokl, Samiotaki (40’) and *Equilibrium* – Prokofjev (35’). The program will also feature a guest performance *Besi*, presented by the Šola za sodobni ples Ane Maletić from Zagreb, created within the regular course *Stage Practice* under the direction of choreographer Milan Tomášik.
In addition, the program will be enriched by a discussion with young creators and experts on the perspectives of dance today. The second edition of the festival thus becomes a space for discovery, recognition, and development of the (young) dance scene.
2. Epizoda: demi- UKREP: ODRIV - Platforma mladih koreografov
14., 15., 16. in 17. maj 2026
Plesni Teater Ljubljana zadnji dve desetletji svojega obstoja omogoča plesalcem mlajše generacije priložnost prvega profesionalnega projekta. Nezanemarljivo dejstvo je, da je veliko domačih plesalcev dobilo svoj prvi projekt prav v Plesnem Teatru Ljubljana, kar jim je odprlo pot razvoja in afirmacije v slovenskem prostoru.
Mlademu avtorju projekt v okviru programa PTL omogoča produkcijsko podporo ter s tem vidnost in vpetost na slovenski sceni.
V letu 2026 smo projekt Mladega avtorja ponudili 4 plesalkam, ki so nedavno zaključile svoje akademsko izobraževanje - Zarja Ferlinc, Daša Resnik, Beti Polanec in Alja Turk Hvala. Hkrati v letu 2026 s projekti mladih avtorjev iz prejšnjih sezon gradimo platformo za mlade ustvarjalce v sklopu demi-UKREP festivala, ki ga podnaslavljamo ODRIV.
Med 14. in 17. majem bodo na ogled premierna dela Bežni delci - Ferlinc, Resnik (30’) in Transformacije 0.1 - Polanec, Turk Hvala (30’), ponovitve prejšnjih prvencev Shifts - Dokl, Samiotaki (40’), Equilibrium - Prokofjev (35’) ter gostujoča Besi v izvedbi Šole za sodobni ples Ane Maletić iz Zagreba, ki jo je v okviru rednega predmeta Scenske prakse pripravil koreograf Milan Tomášik . Poleg tega bo program obogatil pogovor z mladimi ustvarjalci in eksperti o perspektivah plesa danes. Druga epizoda festivala tako postane prizorišče odkrivanja, prepoznavanja in razvoja (mlade) plesne scene.
